Where to Find the Best Eggs Benedict in the Brunch Capital of Canada | DFH Real Estate

Victoria isn't called the brunch capital of Canada for nothing. We have more restaurants per capita than any other city in the country, and many of them are known for serving a great brunch.

To celebrate this fun fact, our real estate agents decided to answer a very important question: which brunch restaurants near our Victoria homes for sale make the best eggs Benedict? Keep reading to discover the top five brunch spots they thought deserved a mention.

Blue Fox Cafe

Address: 919 Fort Street, Victoria, BC V8V 3K3

Blue Fox Cafe was one of the first restaurants in the city to offer all-day breakfast in the 1990s. Now, they're known for making some of the best eggs Benedict in the city.

They serve no less than a dozen different versions of the dish, including:

  • The Moroccan Chicken Benny
  • The Eggs Pico
  • The fan-favourite Portobello Benny

The cafe is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. every weekday, except Wednesdays, and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends—and did we mention that they have a full menu of mimosas and breakfast cocktails

Spoons Diner

Address: 2915 Douglas Street, Victoria BC V8T 4M8

Spoons Diner is proof that brunch doesn't have to be fancy to be delicious. This unassuming retro-style diner is open all week long from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and serves classic eggs Benedict for just $18. Some of our agents rave about the Tom's Benny, a fun spin on the dish that swaps the English muffin base with a grilled cheese sandwich and adds red onion, bacon, and chipotle mayo. They even let you "Build Your Own Benny" with up to three ingredients of your choice for $20.

Fathom

Address: 463 Belleville Street, Victoria, BC V8V 1X3

Fathom is another popular contender for the title of Victoria's best brunch restaurant. The bright citrus notes of their signature yuzu hollandaise give their classic and mushroom eggs Benedict dishes a distinctive, invigorating twist. They serve brunch every day from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. in their laid-back dining room overlooking the Inner Harbour. If you'd prefer to sit outside, their terrace is heated and open all year long.

OEB Breakfast Co.

Address: 856 Yates Street, Victoria, BC V8W 1N4

OEB Breakfast Co.'s Victoria location is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, serving a spectacular brunch that has locals and tourists alike lining up for a taste. Their eggs Benedict comes in six varieties, including:

  • Classic, served with ham or Canadian bacon with optional maple syrup drizzle
  • Florentine, served with spinach, tomato, and avocado
  • Montreal Smoked Meat, served with shaved slices of authentic Montreal-style smoked brisket and mustard

The butter croissant on the bottom of any eggs Benedict order can be swapped for a gluten-free English muffin upon request.

Boom + Batten Restaurant and Cafe

Address: 2 Paul Kane Place, Victoria, BC V9A 7J8

You've never tasted eggs Benedict like the kind you'll get at Boom + Batten. This upscale in Victoria West serves a classic eggs Benedict in half-size or full-size portions every day until 2 p.m.

With your choice of ham or salmon served alongside the poached eggs and hollandaise on a flaky croissant bun, this dish is a treat to be savored. It pairs particularly well with a glass of their Bocce Ball breakfast cocktail, a sunny combination of orange juice and Prosecco spiked with just a hint of amaretto.
