Flavour Trails is an initiative that aims to expose more British Columbians to all the delicious, wholesome foods that this province has to offer. Each season, small farms and agricultural businesses across a specific area invite participants to visit their premises during a festival weekend to enjoy tours, samples, and special discounts.  

The Central Saanich Flavour Trail is coming up on July 12th and 13th, and our real estate agents are excited to get out there and see what the many food producers near our Victoria homes for sale have in store. Join them at the following locations and get a taste of our region's bounty.

• Black Bear Farm - 6080 Oldfield Road, Victoria, BC V8M 1X7 
  Black Bear Farm is a small farm near our Victoria homes for sale that has been operated by the same family for decades. They're particularly well-known for growing fresh, juicy berries. This year, they'll be offering pick-your-own blueberries during the Flavour Trails weekend—perfect for sampling their star product. 
  
  
• Edible Plant Source - 390 Brookleigh Road, Victoria, BC V9E 2J2 
  Edible Plant Source cultivates and sells a slew of different trees, shrubs, vines, canes, and other plants whose products can either be eaten or used in simple homemade remedies. All of the plants they raise are grown using sustainable methods and organic fertilizer to ensure they stay 100% clean and green. The farm will be offering tours of their Food Forest Garden and edible plant gardens during the festival with opportunities to purchase seasonal plants afterwards.  
  
  
• Seadog Farm - 1742 Hovey Road, Saanichton, BC V8M 1S7

Visit them this Flavour Trails weekend to see how their summer produce and flower gardens are progressing and taste some of the berries, beans, and other crops that are ripening around this time of year.  
  
  
• Country Bee Honey Farm – 6440 W Saanich Road, Saanichton, BC V9E 2G4 
  Country Bee Honey Farm produces more than a dozen different types of specialty and infused organic honey as well as honey-kissed treats and personal care products. Their Flavour Trail demonstration features a tour of their apiary and pollinator garden so you can get better acquainted with the bees that make this delicious treat.  
  
  
• Gobind Farms - 6929 Veyaness Road, Saanichton, BC V8M 1W1 
  Gobind Farms uses sustainable farming techniques to produce mouthwatering produce that tastes great eaten fresh or incorporated into their homemade jams and jellies. Visit during the festival to tour the farm, get to know the family that runs it, and pick some of the juicy berries that are such a hit at their summer market stand. 
  
  
• Sea Cider Farm and Ciderhouse - 2487 Mt. St. Michael Road, Saanichton, BC V8M 1T7 
  Sea Cider Farm and Ciderhouse grows more than 50 varieties of apple in their 1,300-tree apple orchard. You'll get to visit this orchard during the upcoming Flavour Trails weekend and see how well this year's apple crop is growing. You'll also get to taste some of the handcrafted cider the farm makes with all the fruit they produce.
  
  
• Level Ground Coffee Roasters - 1757 Sean Heights, Victoria, BC V8M 0B3 
  Level Ground Coffee Roasters is an independent Victoria-based coffee roaster and cafe that knows what it takes to make a good cup of joe. They import all their coffee beans from organic fair trade Colombian farms and craft them into rich, flavourful roasts that are sure to please even the most demanding coffee fans. Stop at their location on the Flavour Trail to try some for yourself and maybe even purchase a bag to take home with you.
