Spring flowers are one of our real estate agents' favourite things about the season, and Victoria's temperate climate and heavy rains make it the perfect environment for them. You can see an incredible array of different spring blossoms at the many public and private gardens around town. Visit the ones listed below to see some of Victoria's most beautiful flowerbeds flourishing.
- Beacon Hill Park - 100 Cook Street, Victoria, BC V8V 4Z8
Beacon Hill Park spans nearly 750,000 square metres and includes several well-kept gardens brimming with lush spring flowers. There's also a pond with a scenic footbridge, an ornamental fountain, and several other landscaping elements that make great backdrops for nature shots to add to your Instagram reel. Keep an eye out for the rare yellow montane violets that bloom here starting in late April. This is one of the best spots in B.C. to spot this beautiful endangered bloom.
- Finnerty Gardens - 3800 Finnerty Road, Victoria, BC V8P 5C2
Finnerty Gardens is a free public garden located on the grounds of the University of Victoria near our Victoria homes for sale. Many of the flowering plants here start to bloom in the springtime, including magnolia trees, rose gardens, hydrangea bushes, and rhododendrons. If you're interested in seeing a specific flower, consult the helpful PDF map available on the university's website.
- The Butchart Gardens - 800 Benvenuto Ave, Brentwood Bay, BC V8M 1J8
The Butchart Gardens is a National Historic Site of Canada close to these Central Saanich homes for sale. With more than 120 years of history behind it, it's still owned and operated by members of the Butchart family. In its springtime gardens, you'll find everything from delicate hyacinths and daylilies to bold fuchsias blooming. Stop by around mid-April to see their grove of dogwood and cherry blossom trees in bloom. The view is breathtaking, and you can even collect some of the falling petals to dry, press, or make potpourri.
