DFH celebrates 50 years of being the leading locally owned and operated Vancouver Island real estate firm.

From its very beginning in 1961, DFH Real Estate Ltd. developed a strong corporate culture of delivering professional, personal and ethical service.  DFH Realty was named after its original owner, Dominic F. Hanley. In fact, many long-standing clients still refer to it as D.F. Hanley. In 1976 Brian Sharp and Jack Clover took over the company and shortened the name to DFH Real Estate Ltd, paying tribute to the man behind the original vision, and reinforced their own commitment to exceptional service.

In 2008 Brian Sharp was ready to retire from active management. The three new partners, Kevin Sing, Mike Nugent and Peter Gaby became owners, and carried on DFH’s philosophy. The company still puts an emphasis on the same key ingredients as when it opened its doors in 1961: professional, personal and ethical service.

DFH is as focused on the mentoring and training of its REALTORS® as it is on delivering exceptional service to its real estate clients. Buying and selling real estate has become increasingly complex. DFH has committed to supporting and building the skills of its agents through industry leading, professional training and experienced support. It is this commitment that sets DFH apart from other real estate brands.

Over its 50 years in business, DFH has evolved into one of Southern Vancouver Island’s top real estate companies. Its mission is to “provide exceptional real estate services to our communities through supported, innovative and knowledgeable real estate professionals.” DFH also has a mandate to support its local communities with sponsorship and volunteers through organizations such as CFAX Santa’s Anonymous, Child Find BC and the United Way.

DFH Real Estate Ltd. continues to grow through adding new REALTORS® to its offices in Victoria, Sidney, the Westshore,  and Shawnigan Lake. The firm has expanded this year to include offering the DFH brand to offices in the Cowichan Valley and Sooke, providing the same levels of service with experienced, local REALTORS®.
