DFH WestShore operates out of the Western Communities, 20 minutes from Victoria. At the forefront of new development, the Western Communities have seen intensive growth and development in the last few years, and our office continues to grow with it. Twenty-nine real estate agents operate out of this office, a reflection of this vibrant, expanding community.
The Western Communities consists of Langford, Colwood, View Royal, the Highlands, Sooke and Metchosin. Each community in the West Shore has its own unique character. Some of the most scenic drives on lower Vancouver Island lead through the West Shore, past open fields, sandy beaches, marinas, parks, trails and farms.

The Highlands is a stunningly beautiful rural residential area just northwest of Victoria. It has an exceptional abundance of scenic beauty, native plants, wildlife and public parkland, making it a destination for outdoor recreational pursuits.
Langford is one of the fastest growing communities in the Victoria area. The downtown core is filled with shops housed in heritage-style buildings, with a mixture of big box stores, specialty boutiques, restaurants and coffee shops. Attractions such as Goldstream Parkand Thetis Lake Park draw many people to the Langford area.
Sooke is the largest of the West Shore communities. The Sooke area is populated with artisan studios, galleries and bed and breakfasts. It has a village core with small boutiques as well as larger retailers. The drive to Sooke is a winding road through forests and fields, opening to ocean glimpses as you near the small seaside community.
Metchosin is just a 20 minute drive from Victoria and is becoming well known as a wilderness adventure getaway for outdoor enthusiasts. The area boasts marshlands ideal for wildlife watching, and trails such as the Galloping Goose and Albert Head Regional Park make Metchosin a destination for outdoor recreation. The numerous parks, oceanfront properties and second growth forests make for a wild and beautiful rural experience.
Colwood is located 10 kilometers from Victoria. The Colwood area is residential with a growing commercial core and impressive heritage buildings. The area’s heritage is preserved in such attractions as the Fisgard Lighthouse, Fort Rodd Hill and Hatley Castle. Colwood holds an abundance of recreational activities and amenities, and parks with incredible ocean views.
View Royal is more of an urban friendly neighbourhood with a residential feel. The View Royal area is an ideal destination for cycling, and is close to Victoria and all its amenities. The View Royal area has parks, golf courses, walkways and shopping, as well as beachfront access to amazing ocean views.
